This article contrasts two models within with teachings may be presented or understood. One is an ‘authority model’. In this model, someone is presumed to present themselves as though have some special knowledge, and therefore authority. Another model is a minority model. This model is one of exclusion, disenfranchisement and marginalization, one which can substantiate activism.
